Harry Marra, Grandfather of the Combined Events, introduces Aston Eton and Brianne Theisen Eaton PDF Print E-mail

On our side, we wish to Harry, Ashton e Brianne ALL THE BEST in Rio! For Harry a special personal message: Grandfather, we are ready for another celebration as in London four years ago. Do you remember? In the restaurant STRADA in the mall just outside of the Olympic Park, we invited you for a cup of Italian wine and a pasta....we told you: half an hour.....we left the restaurant five hours later!!!! Around the table you, Sandro Giovannelli, Carlos Fernandez Canet, Tatsumi Senda and Ottavio. We are ready again, be sure.

Four years ago, in London, on the eve of the decathlon I sent off a final update as to the readiness of Team Eaton.  It proved exact in written message and delivery on the field of play. So, from Rio, on August 7, 2016, the same short update is being sent to all those who have supported and cheered for  Ash and Bri these past number of years.

READY...physical part 99.9 % completed...mental approach now on auto pilot...all systems go

HEALTH...99.5 % for each...the last 1/2 of 1 % is standard operating procedure in training for the DEC / HEPT

LOGISTICS...outlined and reviewed...the nature of the City of Rio will prove to be a challenge in this category....adjustments will be necessary...we are prepared for this.

DATES:  Aug 12-13 Bri  Aug 17-18 Ash   Start time 9:30 AM each day.  End time 11 PM each night...2 very long days for us.

Olympic Creed..." It's not the winning but the taking part.  It's not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing in life is not to have conquered all, but to have fought well and with honesty along the way, "

I fully embrace this.....BUT....

Make no doubt about it, we did not prepare these last 7 years simply to show up...

The Team Eaton goal is to try to do the very best in each of the contested events.  If this is done, the end result place will take care of itself.

Thank you all for your support over all these years.
